Happy last day of May! We’ve had so many people subscribe to our newsletter recently, we wanted to give a quick overview to our new folks about what you can expect to read in this email. Every month we provide a brief company update, share news from our borrowers, and let you know about upcoming entrepreneurial happenings. As a subscriber, you’ll receive special discounts on marketplace industry events and other events we attend or sponsor, updates about our awesome Small Business Bootcamp Webinar Series, industry news, and first dibs on our giveaways. We’re so excited to have you as a part of our community! If you ever have any feedback or questions, please don’t hesitate to tell us. Quick company update: May at P2Bi has been all about growth. We added two new employees to our ranks, were featured on the front page of the Denver Business journal, and just moved to a new temporary office behind our new office space that’s currently being remodeled for us. It’s an old bank complete with a working vault! Bonus! We welcomed 4 new borrowers (we shared the news in our monthly announcement to referral partners) and have funded almost $200 million to our borrowers since signing our first one in May 2014. Do you know a business that would like to discuss a revolving line of credit from P2Binvestor? Let us know here. In this issue:

Borrower news Who loves wine? Meet Splash Wines Welcome to our newest client: Splash Wines, a wine club with a membership model that differs (in a good way!) from the same old wine clubs out there. For P2Bi friends and supporters (and for a limited time!), Splash Wines created a special offer: Get an incredible 15-bottle pack for just $99.95 (yessir, that’s $6.67 a bottle) of great wines from around the world that are sure to please. And on top of that, they are including a special gift—you pick it. You also get free shipping along with their promise that you will never pay for a bottle you don’t like. Ready? Let’s go!
Ronco Our friends at Ronco have been very busy this spring. Their most popular product, The Ronco Ready Grill, a regular on QVC, has been doing quite well—proving Ronco is the reigning king of kitchen gadgetry. Snaps for Ronco! They’re also gearing up for Father’s Day so if you’re looking for a gift, consider checking out a Ronco Pocket Fisherman online or on the shelves at your nearest WalMart or a Ronco Beef Jerky Machine at popular online retailer Wayfair.com. Finally, Ronco will be launching their Pizza & More Oven in July. We’ve been waiting with bated breath ever since we first saw the oven at Expo West and can’t wait to create delicious, oven-baked snacks like hot wings, pigs in a blanket, and oh yeah—the tastiest pizza you’ve ever had. Be sure to follow them on Twitter and Facebook to get the latest updates and pick up your new pizza oven when it’s released in July. Natural Foods & Products Series: Sales and Marketing Strategies for Natural Products Brands We had a few changes to our upcoming webinar including an updated guest roster. On Friday, June 24, at 11:00 am MDT we’ll be chatting with Mark Maggio, founder of Boulder Chip Company (now known as Boulder Canyon) and Bill Capsalis, president of Naturally Boulder. Mark and Bill are long-time veterans of the natural products industry and will be sharing their insights on how entrepreneurs in this space can set up an effective sales and marketing strategy. They’ll also discuss the importance of margin, strategies to gain traction early, and more. Save your spot and come prepared with your questions! If you can’t join us during the live session—don’t worry, register anyway and we’ll send out a copy of the webinar afterward. If you missed the first webinar in this series in which we discuss the various players in the natural products ecosystem, get caught up by watching it here.
Where is Krista? On May 20 we sent Krista to Propellerfest, where innovators of the northeast gather for a one-day event that is more festival than conference. Startups like Dropbox and Audible were in attendance as well as a number of investors. Krista spoke to an audience of early-stage entrepreneurs about strategies to overcome the funding gap and deal with cash-flow challenges associated with high growth. The sunshine, good beer, and even better company made the event one of the more-fun entrepreneurial happening we’ve attended YTD. Krista also spoke recently on a panel hosted by Commons On Champa about the stages of startup funding. She was joined by Chris Onan of Galvanize, Joe Zell of Grotech Ventures, Ryan Kirkpatrick of Colorado Impact Fund and Aaron Cain of Fennemore Craig in an enlightening conversation about how entrepreneurs should think about their funding choices as a growth strategy and which options business owners can deploy at various stages in their business’ life cycle. The Women’s Technology Conference in Denver is right around the corner and if you happen to have snagged a ticket before the event sold out, be sure to say hi to Krista. She’s been invited to act as a luminary and guide a group of techies in a roundtable discussion of what it means to be a woman in technology, how women drive can innovation, and challenges faced while navigating a career through a male-dominated industry. If you haven’t heard about the event, make sure you sign up for 2017. It’s a great conference that features some amazing women entrepreneurs. We promise you’ll leave feeling inspired.
Meet our team: Jordan Fisher, Senior Marketing Manager Meet the brand new addition to our team, Jordan Fisher! Jordan is new to Colorado having recently moved here from Washington, D.C. She is an expert in all things digital marketing and will be assisting us as we ramp-up our online presence and inbound funnel. She promised she is going to help us become the Salesforce of small business lenders. Two weeks into her time at P2Bi, Jordan already loves her new work-home because of our dedication to helping small business owners pursue their passions, our down-to-earth work environment, and our Tevas-welcome dress code (which she takes advantage of frequently). On her off time, you can find Jordan reading books on her porch, hiking with her dog, or maybe heading to a concert at Red Rocks.
